MADISON, Wis. (AP) - The state Senate’s economic development committee plans to visit with business leaders during a statewide tour over the next few weeks.

The committee’s chairman, Sen. Rick Gudex, said Wednesday the panel will visit Oak Creek, Rhinelander, Appleton, Menomonie and Platteville between Sept. 24 and Oct. 26. The committee will take testimony from invited guests from the areas’ business sectors and chambers of commerce.

Gudex says the goal is to gather information that could lead to legislation.

Gudex, a Fond du Lac Republican, and two other members of the committee - Republican Alberta Darling of River Hills and Democrat Julie Lassa of Stevens Point - all face re-election next year.
