BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Police in Buffalo are investigating the second fatal shooting in the city in two days.

Officers responded around 5 p.m. Tuesday to a report of gunfire on Northumberland Avenue, where police say a 31-year-old man from suburban Amherst was shot. He was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

His name hasn’t been released.

The slaying came a day after two men were shot on East Amherst Street. Police say Monday night’s shooting claimed the life of a 39-year-old man and has left a 19-year-old man in critical condition. Their names haven’t been released.

Both shootings are being investigated. No arrests have been reported.

Eight people have been fatally shot in Buffalo since Aug. 30.
