HOCKESSIN, Del. (AP) - New Castle County Police say a Temple University law student has been charged with killing a recent law school graduate in Delaware during a drug deal.

Chief Col. Elmer Setting said at a news conference Wednesday that a warrant was obtained for 25-year-old Benjamin Rauf of Westerlo, New York. Rauf is charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 27-year-old Shazim Uppal of Hockessin, Delaware.

Rauf was arrested Monday by New York State Police at his home. He is awaiting extradition to Delaware.

Uppal was found fatally shot Aug. 24 in his car in Hockessin, Delaware.

New Castle County Police said earlier that a “substantial” amount of marijuana was found in Uppal’s car. Setting said Uppal, who graduated in July, and Rauf knew each other from Temple’s law school.
