DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - A Norwalk man has been arrested on charges of involuntary manslaughter and delivery of a controlled substance in connection with what police say was a heroin-related death of a woman in West Des Moines in June.
West Des Moines police say 28-year-old Travis R. West was arrested Tuesday in connection with the death of Bailey Jo Brady, who was found unconscious in an apartment on June 5. Brady, who was 26, died at a hospital.
Police turned over results of their investigation to the Polk County attorney’s office which filed charges and sought West’s arrest.
Authorities allege West unintentionally caused Brady’s death by recklessly providing her with heroin.
A court hearing has been set for Sept. 25. He remains in jail.
Records do not yet list an attorney for him.
