TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tempe say they’ve arrested a man who’s suspected of stabbing his girlfriend after an argument.

Officers responded to a 911 call early Wednesday to a home and found a woman who had been stabbed multiple times.

Police say 56-year-old Steven Engle has been booked into the Tempe City Jail.

He’s expected to face charges of aggravated assault and domestic violence.

It’s unclear if Engle has a lawyer yet.

Police say Engle was arrested without incident after being located in a nearby office complex.

The woman has been taken to a Tempe hospital for treatment and authorities say she’s expected to survive.

Her name and age haven’t been released.
