MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Criminal charges have been filed against a former Minot State University football player and another man in connection with the assault of the captain of MSU’s baseball team.

Aggravated assault warrants have been issued for former 21-year-old running back Kwame Johnson and for 22-year-old Steven Patrick. Court documents do not list attorneys for them.

Police say MSU outfielder/first baseman Keith Ailes was treated at a hospital for facial injuries after being assaulted Aug. 29 following an argument at a party.

MSU dismissed Johnson from the team after the incident and suspended indefinitely two other football players who have not been criminally charged.
