RENO, Nev. (AP) - The members of Montreux Golf & Country Club in Reno have voted to keep the PGA Tour’s Barracuda Championship at the Jack Nicklaus-designed course on the edge of the Sierra through 2019.

The Reno Gazette-Journal reports (https://tinyurl.com/p5webe4) the members approved the extension Tuesday with 66 percent of the vote.

It’s the first formal action taken by the Montreux membership that assumes ownership of the club effective Jan. 1, 2016.

Formerly known as the Reno-Tahoe Open, Barracuda Championship tournament director Chris Hoff says the course that winds through towering pines and mountain streams is a beautiful venue that PGA Tour players love to come back to year-after-year.

J.J. Henry won this year’s tourney in August on the second hole of a playoff with Kyle Reifers.
