YORK, Ala. (AP) - Authorities have arrested a west Alabama woman on charges of killing her husband.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says 44-year-old Carolyn Rodgers Cook of York is charged with murder in the death of husband Echols Cook, a former York City Council member.

Cook was killed at his home on Valentine’s Day. State police arrested his widow on Thursday afternoon.

Cook is being held at the Sumter County Jail.

Court records aren’t yet available to show whether Cook has a defense attorney who can comment on her behalf.
