LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) - The Arkansas State Police is investigating the theft of four decommissioned state police vehicles from the department’s headquarters auto storage lot.

The vehicles were awaiting transfer to the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration, Marketing and Redistribution warehouse. State Police markings and emergency equipment had already been removed from the vehicles in advance of the planned transfer to the warehouse.

Investigators learned of the thefts on Wednesday afternoon, and the fleet operations staff began an immediate audit of the department’s vehicle inventory. Two of the vehicles were recovered the same day - one in Little Rock and one in Union County. The two missing vehicles were identified as a white 2010 Dodge Charger and a white 2006 Ford Crown Victoria.

No arrests have been made in connection with the case.
