SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) - Police are encouraging those with cabins or campers in the Bighorn Mountains to protect valuables after a rash of break-ins has been reported over the past several weeks.

The Sheridan Press reports (https://bit.ly/1NHgLL2 ) that one cabin and four campers have been broken into between July 31 and Sept. 15. In four of the incidents, property was stolen.

Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office Lt. Mark Conrad says most of the items taken are chain saws, firearms, generators and other such items.

Conrad says it is unclear if the cases are connected, but that geographically the break-ins are close together, at Black Mountain Road, Dayton Gulch Road and Nickel Creek.
