COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say eight middle-school students were treated at a hospital as a precaution after their school bus was involved in a crash with a pickup truck on Columbus’ east side.

Officials say the students were taken to Nationwide Children’s Hospital with complaints of minor head or neck pain after the crash Thursday afternoon.

Witnesses told police the truck collided with the bus carrying children from Sherwood Middle School.

The driver of the Columbus City Schools bus was taken to Mount Carmel East hospital, and the truck driver went to Grant Medical Center. Both were transported in stable condition. Their names and conditions weren’t immediately available Friday.

This story has been corrected to show that the name of one of the hospitals is Grant Medical Center, not Grand Medical Center.
