LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Friday is the deadline for Michigan hunters to return unused deer and deer combination licenses for a refund.

Officials agreed to provide the refunds after antlerless deer hunting regulations took effect this summer. Some hunters had purchased licenses for the fall hunting seasons before the rule change.

The Michigan Natural Resources Commission eliminated the option to kill antlerless deer during the archery seasons for hunters using deer or deer combo licenses in the Upper Peninsula. The decision makes deer and deer combo licenses used in the archery season “buck-only” licenses.

Hunters seeking a refund must bring the licenses to the outlet where they were purchased. Those who bought them online can call 517-284-6057.
