Hillary Rodham Clinton disappointed children at a New Hampshire Boys and Girls Club when she reportedly failed to show up for an event Thursday in Laconia.

“It just didn’t happen,” Traci Tucker of the Laconia Boys and Girls Club told local news station NH1. “She ran out of time. There were tears, they were really looking forward to it.”

Landon Bormes, 8, said he was disappointed to learn he wouldn’t get the chance to meet the Democratic presidential candidate.

“When I heard it, I was kind of angry and mad at the same time,” he told the station. “And I kind of felt a little bit sad because I was looking forward to it for all day today.”

Landon’s father, Michael Bormes, called Mrs. Clinton’s no-show “unacceptable.”

“You want to be the president of the United States, it starts with the youth,” he said. “You couldn’t even live up to a promise that was made or told to these kids?”

The kids had reportedly written her letters and drawn pictures, including a “Happy Halloween” sign.

In her absence, Mrs. Clinton signed a piece of paper for the kids, The Washington Free Beacon reported.

NH1 said a Clinton staff member refused to comment on the matter.
