INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Ford Hoosier Outdoor Experience kicks off Saturday, offering hands-on tutorials in a wide range of outdoor activities.

The family-friendly event will take place Saturday and Sunday at Fort Harrison State Park on the northeast side of Indianapolis.

Roughly 50 free classes and demonstrations are scheduled throughout the event, offering instruction in wilderness survival skills, bike maintenance, fishing and camping, among others. A 5,000-meter foot race will be held Sunday.

The event hosted by the Indiana Department of Natural Resources drew an estimated 20,000 people last year.
