CLEAR LAKE, Iowa (AP) - Court records say a woman has dropped a lawsuit filed against the Clear Lake Community School District over its handling of her son’s football injury.

A trial on the lawsuit by Roxanne Hasfjord on behalf of her son, Austin, was scheduled to begin March 15, 2016. She was seeking unspecified damages for past and future medical expenses, pain, suffering and partial disability.

Court documents say the boy suffered a head injury in a school game on Sept. 18, 2012. The documents say his injury was worsened during subsequent practices and games.

The lawsuit was dismissed Thursday without prejudice, meaning it can be refiled. District Superintendent Anita Micich told the Mason City Globe Gazette (https://bit.ly/1UZEzZH) that no monetary settlement was involved. Hasfjord’s attorney declined to comment.
