RAHWAY, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say a Rahway man has been charged in the fatal shooting of a taxi driver last month.

Union County prosecutors said that 20-year-old Nathaniel Young was charged Friday with murder, robbery and weapons charges.

Police arrived on Bedford Street just before 11 p.m. Aug. 25 and found 57-year-old Imad Alasmar of Edison dead in his cab.

Young’s bail was set at $1 million and he was at the Essex County corrections center. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had an attorney to comment on his behalf.

Alasmar’s car collided with a park car, injuring a man and woman. They were treated and released from a hospital.
