BEL AIR, Md. (AP) - A man accused of fatally stabbing a teen girl and injuring her sister and her mother has pleaded guilty but not criminally responsible in the crime.

The Harford County State’s Attorney’s Office says 22-year-old Ivan Bustamante of Bel Air entered the plea Friday to first-degree murder in the death of 15-year-old of Esmerelda Hernandez of Edgewood.

Prosecutors say on Nov. 8, 2014, Bustamante broke into an apartment and stabbed Esmerelda Hernandez, her twin sister Lizbeth Hernandez, and their mother, 39-year-old Maria Hernandez.

Bustamante has been turned over to the custody of the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
