SHAWANO, Wis. (AP) - Sheriff’s officials say a driver has been arrested on his ninth drunken driving charge following a pursuit in Shawano County.

Authorities say a deputy stopped the man for driving recklessly about 12:30 a.m. Friday, but the driver fled after pulling over near Gresham. The driver was chased on county highways and across state Highway 29 until he hit stop spikes set up by deputies.

The driver crashed into a ditch and was taken into custody.
