RICHMOND, Va. (AP) - Richmond National Battlefield Park is seeking volunteers to spruce up the park.

The park says it wants individuals and groups to volunteer on Sept. 26 as part of National Public Lands Day.

Late year, more than 175,000 people volunteered at more than 2,100 sites around the country.

Richmond National Battlefield Park says volunteers will serve at the Fort Harrison part of the park. Volunteers will plant grasses on the Civil War earthworks.
