SPRINGFIELD, Ohio (AP) - Authorities say minor injuries were reported after a tractor-trailer driver lost control and crashed into the woods off Interstate 70 in western Ohio.

The Dayton Daily News reports (https://bit.ly/1LBsNzv ) the accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Thursday near the South Vienna exit of I-70 in Harmony Township.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials say the tractor-trailer veered across six lanes of traffic and the median before hurtling down a ravine into the woods.

Sgt. Merrill Thompson says the truck ended up 100 yards from the pavement. The driver of the vehicle wasn’t hurt. His passenger suffered only minor injuries.

Highway Patrol officials say witnesses initially reported hearing an explosion, but troopers on-scene confirmed no blast had occurred.

Thompson says it’s a miracle that another car wasn’t hit by the tractor-trailer.
