BECKLEY, W.Va. (AP) - The second annual West Virginia Urban Agriculture Conference is being held at West Virginia State University.

The conference begins Friday and lasts through Saturday.

The conference offers expert-led sessions on homesteading, community gardening and a variety of urban agriculture topics. The conference will end with a farmers market of local vendors.

The conference is being held at the university’s Wilson Student Union.

The event will feature workshops on urban agriculture topics such as gardening, raising chickens, agricultural business operation, sourcing local foods and rainwater harvesting and others.
