YORK, Ala. (AP) - The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency has arrest a York woman, accusing her of slaying her husband, a former city councilman, on Valentine’s Day.

Authorities announced Thursday that 44-year-old Carolyn R. Cook of York was charged with murder in connection with the Feb. 14 death of Echols Cook.

Investigators say the slaying occurred at the couple’s home. No further information about the incident was immediately available.

Cook is being held at the Sumter County jail. Her bond was set at $50,000.

It is unclear if she has an attorney to comment on the charge.
