RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - North Carolina is awarding $5 million in film grants to three productions.

Commerce Secretary John Skvarla announced Friday that a television pilot, an HGTV show, and an independent film were chosen from 17 applications. Production begins this fall.

“Good Behavior” is a TV pilot based off author Blake Crouch’s Letty Dobesh series. The pilot will be filmed in the Wilmington and Asheville areas. It’s eligible for $1.25 million.

HGTV’s “List It or List It” is eligible for $950,000. It is filming a second season in the Durham and Raleigh areas.

An independent film directed by North Carolina native Jody Hill can receive $2.8 million. It’s being filmed in western parts of the state. Hill co-wrote the script with fellow graduates of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
