WARWICK, R.I. (AP) - Authorities say a multi-alarm apartment fire in Warwick sent two people including a firefighter to a hospital.

The Providence Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1gAUIXN ) the blaze broke out Saturday morning at the Four Seasons South apartment complex.

Battalion Chief David Morse says the injured firefighter was sent to the hospital for a checkup after the ceiling collapsed on him. Morse says the firefighter told colleagues he was holding the ceiling up so everyone else could get out.

The other injury resulted from an apparent panic attack.

Morse says firefighters were still on scene by midmorning wetting down hot spots.

It’s unclear how many residents were displaced.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
