WASHINGTON (AP) - District of Columbia police have made arrests in one overnight homicide and continue to investigate another.

Police say officers responded to the 3200 block of 28th Street Southeast at roughly 1 a.m. on Saturday after hearing gunshots in the area and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the man died at the hospital. The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Marcellus Green. Police on Saturday arrested Steven Pugh and Maricco Knight, both 22, in connection to Green’s death. Both men have been charged with murder.

At roughly 4 a.m. Saturday officers were called to the 2400 block of Elvans Road Southeast for a report of a man down. When they arrived the officers found a man fatally shot. That incident is under investigation.
