LAS VEGAS (AP) - Firefighters on Saturday battled intense smoke as they worked to put out a house fire near Nellis Air Force Base.

Clark County Fire Department spokesman Jeff Buchanan says the blaze broke out around 9 a.m. at the single-story home in North Las Vegas several miles from the base.

Crews from three different fire departments were called to the scene.

Buchanan says the home was empty and no injuries were reported.

Investigators are trying to figure out what started the blaze.
