DAVENPORT, Iowa (AP) - A 15-year-old boy has been charged with assault and banned from riding Davenport city buses after police say he punched a female driver in the face earlier this week.

The Quad-City Times reports (https://bit.ly/1NK9vxT ) that the teen has been charged as a juvenile with assault causing bodily injury. Police have not released the teen’s name, and The Associated Press generally does not name juveniles charged with crimes.

Officials say the teen hit the driver after school Tuesday after the two argued over the city bus fare policy. The driver was treated for her injuries at a hospital and returned to work two days later.

Davenport community relations director Jennifer Nahra says the attack was an isolated incident, but that additional supervision has been placed on the bus route.
