LOS ANGELES (AP) - Los Angeles police are looking for a driver they say hit a woman in a crosswalk, then fled after stopping to remove the car’s license plates.

City News Service says the woman was struck Friday night in a crosswalk in Highland Park and was carried 50 feet on the car’s hood before she fell off. She’s hospitalized in critical condition.

Police are looking for a white, four-door Mitsubishi Lancer with a broken windshield.
