SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Police say a man’s legs have been amputated following an industrial accident in Juab County.

The man fell into an auger at the plant in the small town of Mills. Taylor says the man was able to get himself out of the machine and his co-workers performed first aid that saved his life.

The man was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center in a helicopter. Both his legs were amputated at the knee.

He is expected to survive.
