HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) - Chase Litton threw for 270 yards and four touchdowns, and Devon Johnson rushed for 122 yards and a score to help Marshall to a 45-7 win over Norfolk State on Saturday.

Litton, making his debut as starting quarterback, completed 24 of 31 passes with no interceptions and rushed for another 27 yards. Deandre Reaves caught two of the TD throws, including a 36-yarder in the second quarter. Davonte Allen hauled in an 11-yard scoring throw and Justin Hunt caught a 25-yard strike to pad the final score for Marshall (2-1).

Nick Smith kicked a 52-yard field goal to put the Thundering Herd on the board in the first quarter.

Norfolk State (0-3) jumped out to an early lead with Greg Hankerson’s 14-yard touchdown pass to Gerard Johnson to cap a six-play, 75-yard opening drive. But it struggled to move the ball the rest of the game, gaining just 191 total yards to Marshall’s 495.
