MASON CITY, Iowa (AP) - A Mason City man has been found guilty of setting fire to a Subway restaurant late last year.

The Globe Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1NK5FFe ) that 23-year-old Ethan Miller was convicted Friday afternoon by a Cerro Gordo County jury of first-degree arson, theft and possession of a controlled substance.

Authorities say Miller was an employee when he broke into the restaurant while it was closed on Dec. 29. Investigators say they think Miller had intended to commit a theft.

Miller faces a up to 55 years in prison when he’s sentenced later this year.

Miller was ordered to remain in jail until he’s sentenced.
