PONCA, Neb. (AP) - The Missouri River Outdoor Expo is being held this weekend at Ponca State Park.

The free event begins Saturday morning and runs through Sunday. Participants will get a chance to try more than 85 hands-on outdoor activities and skills - including kayaking, fishing, archery, outdoor cooking and shooting sports.

Outdoor educators will also be on hand to give advice about topics such as selecting a tent or fishing pole. Naturalist programs give visitors a chance to see fish, reptiles, birds and other Nebraska wildlife up close.

A park entry permit is required, but the activities are free. Contact the park at 402-755-2284 or go online at missouririverexpo.com for more information.
