GONZALES, La. (AP) - Prosecutors say a 45-year-old Prairieville man has been convicted of molesting a 10-year-old girl after prosecutors used DNA evidence against him.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1KpicYr ) that an Ascension Parish jury found Henry Lewis guilty Friday afternoon.

Because of the girl’s age, Lewis faces between 25 and 99 years in prison.

Prosecutors accused Lewis of using his position of influence and control over the juvenile to molest her between Sept. 28 and 30, 2013.

Lewis was arrested in January 2014.

Three DNA experts testified against Lewis during the trial as prosecutors brought to light that Lewis’ DNA was found on the girl’s training bra.

Lewis was remanded to the parish prison pending sentencing. A sentencing date was not set.
