SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - South Dakota feedlots with capacities of 1,000 or more animals reported 205,000 cattle on feed on September 1, up 17 percent from last year.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says in its latest report that placements in feedlots during August totaled 31,000 head, down 11 percent from 2014.

Marketings of fed cattle during in August totaled 34,000 head, unchanged from last year.

Other disappearance during August totaled 2,000 head, up 1,000 head from last year.
