ASTORIA, Ore. (AP) - An Astoria teen has been killed in a car crash on Highway 202 east of Astoria.

Oregon State Police say the crash happened just after 11 a.m. on Saturday. The teen lost control of her car on a corner and crossed the centerline. The teen’s car then collided with a pickup going in the opposite direction.

The teen, a 16-year-old female, died at the scene. Her name has not been released.

The pickup was registered to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. Its driver, 36-year-old Brooks R Van Develder, was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released. Van Develder is a state employee.
