INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An agriculture company is planning to build a $12 million research and development facility near Indianapolis International Airport.

Sure-Tech Laboratories is proposing the project for an industrial park just north of the airport. The company plans to move its operations from a leased facility on the city’s southwest side.

The Indianapolis Business Journal reports (https://bit.ly/1LRZle6 ) the company is asking city officials for a six-year property tax abatement that would save it about $900,000.

Sure-Tech Laboratories is a division of dairy products company Land O’Lakes that studies feed ingredients, soil, manure, water and plant tissues. Sure-Tech says the new 40,000-square-foot facility would allow it to retain 24 workers and perhaps add some jobs in the coming years.
