ERIE, Pa. (AP) - The body of a man reported missing last month has been found in a northwestern Pennsylvania pond, but authorities still aren’t sure how he died.

Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook says the body of 38-year-old David Shreve Jr., of Erie, was found Tuesday afternoon in a pond behind the Abington Crest Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Summit Township.

Shreve wasn’t a patient at the facility.

The coroner says Shreve lived in Erie and had been reported missing by relatives about 10 days before the body was found.

Cook says an initial autopsy ruled out foul play. But more investigation is needed to determine how Shreve died.

He was known to police in Erie, where he had recently made claims about his children’s welfare apparently related to a custody dispute.
