NEWARK, N.J. (AP) - Stephen Colbert (kohl-BEHR’) and J.J. Abrams will soon be joining forces for a celebrity nerd-off that will benefit a New Jersey film festival.

The Nov. 21 event at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark was announced Wednesday by organizers of the Montclair Film Festival, which town resident Colbert has supported for years. They say the duo will discuss their works and creative influences.

Colbert recently ended a long stint as host of “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central and is scheduled to start next week as the new host of the “Late Show” on CBS. Abrams is a noted writer, director and producer of television series and films and is one of the creative forces behind the upcoming Star Wars movie “The Force Awakens.”
