D’IBERVILLE, Miss. (AP) - A D’Iberville woman has won $250,000 playing a McDonald’s sweepstakes game.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1hTkp7s) the fast-food chain identified the winner as Megan D., who was presented her check on Tuesday. Megan D. tells the newspaper that she entered the Minion Mania sweepstakes in July after seeing an ad on Facebook.

Megan D. says McDonald’s contacted her on July 24 and told her she won.

Officials say the corporation gave away $1 million during the nationwide summer promotion, in which players could peel a game piece from their McDonald’s meal or enter an online code with a guaranteed weekly jackpot of $250,000.

Megan D. was one of four $250,000 winners. She says she and her family plan to use the money to fund retirement and for other expenses.
