HURON, S.D. (AP) - The state Department of Agriculture says there are plenty of ways to visit the South Dakota State Fair without taking a big hit in the wallet.

The fair runs from Thursday through Sept. 7.

Attendees who buy a Grandstand ticket through Wednesday also get free admission. Veterans and active military members get complimentary admission on Thursday.

On Monday, attendees who dress as Colonel Sanders can get into the fair for free.

There are also coupons available for admittance.
