CULLMAN, Ala. (AP) - A German auto supplier has opened the company’s first North America automotive technical center in Alabama.

AL.com reports (https://bit.ly/1N3BI0X) that REHAU opened its new $3 million, 12,000-square-foot automotive technical center on Wednesday. The auto supplier’s facility has space for 45 engineers and is located near its manufacturing plant in Cullman, Alabama.

REHAU is a supplier for the Mercedes-Benz factory in Tuscaloosa County. The plant produces bumpers, spoilers and rocker panels for customers that also include BMW and Nissan.

Last year, REHAU marked the completion of a $115 million, 250-job expansion at the Cullman manufacturing plant.
