PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) - Two stray hairs left on the exterior window ledge of a Portland home have led to the arrest of a man in connection to a burglary in June 2014.

The Oregonian reports (https://bit.ly/1KqjFmQ ) that Lee Patrick Trevino was arraigned Tuesday on allegations of first-degree burglary and theft.

Last year, the resident reported that her wedding ring, her late husband’s wedding band and an iPad had been stolen from her bedroom. Investigators found that the thief had entered through a window that had been pried open.

On Aug. 12, a state forensic scientist told police he had found those two hairs from the windowsill matched Trevino’s DNA profile.

Trevino is being held at Multnomah County’s Inverness Jail and is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 10.
