SAN TAN VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say a homeowner used a sword to fend off two teens that had broken into his San Tan Valley home.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office says the man arrived home early Saturday to find the teens burglarizing his home.

The homeowner armed with a Katana sword was able to prevent one of the suspects from leaving. The 15-year-old was taken into custody.

The 16-year-old suspect was found later and admitted to running from the house with a bag full of items, including watches, spray paint, antique coins and a tablet.

Both suspects admitted they brought tools, a flashlight and gloves to break into the house.
