KATTSKILL BAY, N.Y. (AP) - Officials say two men were injured after a boat exploded on Lake George in upstate New York.

Warren County Sheriff’s Lt. Steve Stockdale says the men were refueling the boat when a spark ignited gas vapors and caused the explosion.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. Tuesday near Fischers Marina in Kattskill Bay.

Police say one man suffered serious burns and the other suffered only minor burns. They both were transported to Glens Falls Hospital for treatment.

Officials believe one man was a dock attendant at the marina and the other was the boat’s driver. Their names haven’t been released.

Medical transport helicopters responded to the scene and rescue personnel used a fireboat to extinguish the blaze on the vessel.
