DAYTON, Ohio (AP) - A 43-year-old southwest Ohio man is facing aggravated murder charges in his mother’s stabbing death.

Montgomery County Prosecutor Mat Heck Jr. says the grand jury charges against Jamie G. Tuck include aggravated robbery, felonious assault, kidnapping, forgery and credit card misuse. Heck says the aggravated murder charges carry a potential death sentence with conviction.

Authorities say a family member checking after 66-year-old Marilyn Burns didn’t show up for her library work June 9 found her dead in her basement. Authorities say Heck has served prison time and was given a place to stay by his mother. Authorities say he stabbed and cut her, then stole from her.

Tuck is being held on $500,000 bond and has a court appearance Thursday. His attorney didn’t return a phone call.
