PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) - A 48-year-old Pascagoula man has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident in the death of 38-year-old Annette Johnson.

The Sun Herald reports (https://bit.ly/1JxDh2v) Johnson died Monday night at University of South Alabama Medical Center from injuries received during a vehicular accident in Pascagoula.

Capt. Shannon Massey said Johnston was struck by a vehicle Sunday night on Nathan Hale Street and was initially taken to Singing River Hospital before being moved to USA Medical Center.

Pascagoula police arrested James Earl Williams on Monday afternoon. He is currently in jail awaiting an initial appearance before Judge Michael Fondren.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Williams.
