CHESNEE, S.C. (AP) - Spartanburg County school officials say they discovered a seventh-grade boy had a kill list with the names of at least two students on it.

Spartanburg School District 2 spokeswoman Rhonda Henderson told local media that the student at Rainbow Lake Middle School west of Chesnee had three names on the list Monday, but one was illegible.

Henderson says the parents of the students on the list were contacted by the school.

She says the student was sent home and will be recommended for placement in Spartanburg County’s Alternative School.

The boy’s name was not released because of his age. No charges have been filed.
