CANTON, Ohio (AP) - Police say a 16-year-old boy has been charged with fatally shooting a man and wounding the man’s stepson last month in northeast Ohio.

The Repository in Canton (https://bit.ly/1hTPYy2 ) reports police say the teen was arrested Monday on charges of murder and felonious assault. Canton police say he is accused of killing 36-year-old Daniel Davis and shooting Davis’ stepson, 19-year-old Giovanni Woodberry in the leg.

The Stark County prosecutor’s office says prosecutors are seeking to have the teen tried in adult court. It couldn’t be determined immediately whether the teen has an attorney.

Police Capt. Dave Davis told the newspaper the men were shot while arguing outside an apartment building Aug. 23 and the teen may have thought their comments were directed at him.

The captain says the investigation is continuing.
