ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) - After five burglaries in six years, a retired Maine lobsterman bought a gun to defend himself and ended up shooting an intruder hours later.

Sixty-seven-year-old Harvey Lembo tells the Portland Press Herald (https://bit.ly/1JLFFX1 ) he bought a 1941 revolver Monday.

Just past midnight Tuesday, he says he was awakened and saw a big shadow. Lembo says he climbed into his wheelchair and found an intruder near where he kept his pills.

Lembo says he ordered the man to stay where he was while he called police, but he says the man bolted toward the front door and Lembo shot him in the shoulder.

Forty-five-year-old Christopher Wildhaber was charged with burglary and violating probation and was ordered held without bail. It wasn’t immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
