GALVESTON, Texas (AP) - Authorities say four people have been safely rescued from a pleasure boat that burned and sank off the Texas coast.

The Coast Guard on Sunday said good Samaritans in another vessel saw the flames and saved the boaters in an incident off Galveston, near a jetty.

Coast Guard personnel also responded to Saturday night’s incident and helped transport the three adults and a child to shore. Nobody was hurt.

Names of those on board and further details on the vessel weren’t immediately released.

A Coast Guard vessel stayed on the scene as the burning boat sank.

Officials are trying to determine what started the fire.
